llms.txt for small business websites

llms.txt is a proposed plain-text file at yoursite.com/llms.txt that summarises your business and key pages for AI models; it takes ten minutes to add and SiteScore drafts one in every report, but no AI engine has confirmed it as a ranking factor, so fix crawler access and on-page answers first.

What goes in it

A heading with your business name, a one-line summary (who, what, where), then a list of key pages, each with a link and one sentence. Keep it true and short. The format proposal is at llmstxt.org.

How many sites have one

2 of our 5 sample sites served a valid llms.txt on 2026-10-14. A common failure is a site that returns its normal HTML page at /llms.txt (a 'soft 404'); the audit detects that.

Our own

This site publishes https://sitescore.sites.tab.bot/llms.txt and https://sitescore.sites.tab.bot/llms-full.txt, plus a markdown copy of every page (add .md to the page name).
