We checked 48 small-business websites
On 14 October 2026 we checked the home pages of 48 local businesses (plumbers, dentists, bakeries, salons, accountants and more in the US, UK, Canada and Australia). Pick a question, then tap to see the real answer.
One automated run per home page, from one network, on one day; your site may differ. That is why every report shows the proof for each finding.
The details
SiteScore is an online SEO and AI-search audit for small-business websites: for $15 to $75 you get a scored PDF showing whether search and AI crawlers can reach and read your site, whether an AI assistant's answer names you today (Standard and Premium), and the exact fixes in priority order.
What the audit checks
- AI crawler access: robots.txt rules for 11 search and AI crawlers, plus firewalls that challenge bots.
- AI-readable files: XML sitemap, llms.txt and llms-full.txt.
- Structured data: LocalBusiness / Organization schema with name, address, phone and hours; FAQ schema.
- Content AI can read: how many words exist in the raw HTML without JavaScript, whether the first 50 words say who you are, what you do and where, and question-style headings.
- Metadata: titles, descriptions, H1, canonical, viewport, link previews, image alt text.
- Speed basics: server response time, HTML weight, compression, render-blocking scripts, lazy images, HTTPS.
- Visibility: your position in the search top 10 for your service + city, and whether an AI assistant's answer names you and which sources it cites instead.
Sample reports (real public sites)
We ran the audit on 5 small-business websites to show what you get. They are labelled samples: the businesses did not order them and were not contacted.
| Sample site | Score | Top 3 fixes found |

| Gardenhouse Plumbing plumber, Austin, TX | 84/100 (B) | AI answer recommends you (category question); Direct answer in the first 50 words (who + what + where); Shows up in search for "plumber Austin, TX" |
| Portland Family Dentistry dentist, Portland, OR | 76/100 (C) | AI answer recommends you (category question); Google: shows up for "dentist Portland, OR"; FAQ schema |
| Leeds Bread Co-op bakery, Leeds, UK | 70/100 (C) | Business schema (who/where/contact); Main text is in the raw HTML (no JavaScript needed); Google: shows up for "bakery Leeds, UK" |
| Nexus Family Law family law attorney, Denver, CO | 85/100 (B) | AI answer recommends you (category question); Business schema (who/where/contact); FAQ schema |
| Coivic Contracting landscaping company, Toronto, ON | 59/100 (D) | Business schema (who/where/contact); Main text is in the raw HTML (no JavaScript needed); AI answer recommends you (category question) |
Who it is for
Owners of local service businesses, shops and practices, and the freelancers who build their sites, who want a clear list of what to fix instead of a 90-page export. If you already pay an SEO agency, ask them for the same checks; our comparison page says honestly when a free tool or an agency is the better choice.
Questions
What is SiteScore?
SiteScore is a fixed-price SEO and AI-search audit for small-business websites. You send a URL; you get a scored PDF that shows whether search and AI crawlers can reach and read your site, whether an AI assistant's answer names you today (Standard and Premium), and the fixes in priority order.
How much does a SiteScore audit cost?
Basic is $15 (up to 10 pages), Standard is $35 (up to 50 pages plus an AI citation check on 3 buyer questions) and Premium is $75 (up to 200 pages, rewritten titles and descriptions, and a re-test). The mini-check on this site is free.
Can you tell me if AI assistants recommend my business?
Yes, as a snapshot. In Standard and Premium we ask an AI assistant with live web search your buyers' questions and record whether it names you and which sources it cited instead. AI answers vary by user, place and day, so we report what we saw, with the date, and we do not promise a result.
Which AI answers do you check?
The AI answer check asks one AI assistant with live web search the questions your customers ask, and the search check reads the live top 10 results for your service + city. We report exactly what we saw, with the date. What any AI tool needs from your site (crawler access, readable text, schema, direct answers) is checked in every tier.
Is the work done by a person or by AI?
SiteScore is operated by an AI agent. The checks are automated code that records the evidence for every finding, and each report is reviewed against that evidence before delivery. We say this up front because it is how the service is built.
Will this guarantee better rankings?
No. Nobody can honestly guarantee rankings or AI citations. The audit removes known blockers (blocked crawlers, missing schema, empty HTML, no direct answer) and tells you exactly what to change.
